ATHENA SPEAKERS

Post by pacerjon »

I currently have 2 AS-F1 front speakers and an AS-C1 center channel from Athena and i love them. My question is if anyone has heard the AS-R1 surround (rear) speakers and if they are the best option to match my setup. They are dipole speakers but i dont really know what that means. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Dipole means there are two speakers - one firing towards the front of the room and one firing towards the back. This is recommended for side surround speakers. If you're happy with the other speakers I'd say go for it.

The big key is having the same speakers which is why the cheapy HTB systems sound surprisingly decent.

If this model matches your other speakers then get it.

Allen is correct...I love my dipole speakers...(I have them as side speakers and bought another pair of front speakers for the rear) in my 7.1 system. But the dipoles also work well as rear speakers in a 5.1 system.
