Video Dropouts

Post by Tombanjo »

What's with all the video dropouts? Maybe it's because I watch more ABC shows (on Directv), but they seem to have the most. The Oscars were riddled with them last night. At first I thought it was a camera switching at live events problem, but then I recalled it happening on taped shows like Desperate Housewives.

I watch virtually everything recorded on my HD TiVo, so maybe the problem lies with that unit. Has anybody been experiencing these vid dropouts watching D* in real time?

Just for clarity...

You mean you watch the national ABC feed off of DirecTV?

Are you talking about the national ABC HD feed on DirecTV or local OTA?

I've had worse than normal DirecTV reception the last few weeks. I think my dish has shifted and needs to be reaimed. This will affect some transponders differently than others.

Via OTA there were some drop outs or glitches such as some quick blocking or multiple dropped frames along with the audio being cut off for a split second. 10 times maybe?

While it wasn't flawless due to the above, 99.9% of the time it was awesome!
