help with scaling artifacts
I have a panny 42phd6uy, native resolution 1024X768. I get artifacts(pixelation) during dark scenes. Brighter scenes do not seem to be a problem. The panel has been ISF calibrated. My calibrater suggested a DVDO to get rid of the artifacts. I use DirecTV with an HR10-250 as a tuner. I'd appreciate any info I could get to help with this problem. If I do need an DVDO, which unit? They have several. Or am I better waiting for 1080P panel. Thank you

Hi billd1954,
Doing this is not uncommon for displays that are not native to any of the video content signals and are being used in a videophile application.
Who did the calibration? He/she should be able to assist you with finding the right DVDO scaler for your application and I highly recommend you have them set it up.
As for waiting for a 1080P panel only you can decide if that makes sense for you, your application and your wallett.
It is native to nothing which is why your calibrator suggested an external scaler. All your sources must go through it and be rescaled to 1024X768 and obviously the scaler must be capable of doing that special scan rate.native resolution 1024X768
