Picture Quality- Toshiba

I am having a problem with my 60 inch Toshiba that is about 4 year old. For the past few weeks we have been experiencing difficulties with the picture quality that seems to be related to the apsect ratio. What happens is that the when the the TV is turned on the picture jumps from a full screen size to a minuture square in the middle. I apologize that I am unable to describe it in better terms. The picture shrinks into a sqare in the middle of the TV and the picture quality diminishes as well. When I called a TV repair guy, he told me that I was out of his service range and he suggested that I try this site. Any help you provide will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kammye,

I was the guy you spoke with today and while you were not out of my range, just outside of everyday pricing for your location, I was not left with the impression your TV was broken and that your complaint may be a format setting on your satellite STB.

I assume this is not a problem with DVD in which case it is likely the format adjust.

What model is your satellite STB so someone can assist you?

My satelite is Dish Network. We will try disconnecting the satelite to determine if this is the cause. I also printed out a manual to see if there are some add'l troubleshooting we can do. Your help is appreciated. Kammye
