30PW9110D/37, Antenna VU-190XR, Rotator and 24dB Amplifier

Post by firststatede »

The TV has a integrated QAM digital receiver. I have been to antennaweb.org and could see I needed a strong antenna and the amp couldn't hurt either.
This with the only rotor Radio Shack sells, I'm hoping I'm going to be satisfied with the set up. I should be finished tomorrow.

I was wondering if anyone had a similar set up and/or had any advice for me.
My zip is 19966 and needed to bring in some signals from 100 plus miles away. :)

QAM is a modulation used by cable. You might need to buy a receiver.

100 miles is possible but unlikely. You should count on your local stations.

WMGM (NBC) has been dragging their feet. Hopefully they will have their 200kW DTV transmitter up soon. All stations are supposed to be at full power by the end of this year.

30PW9110D/37 has a NTSC and ATSC TV System as well as a BTSC Stereo System. Sorry, I failed to mention it all. (now i know what QAM means though). I researched and "think" I found a good HD TV without compromising too much. Keep in mind that money was a big issue.
"Little" history, not working and not sure when I will be able too. Some might say "you idiot why spend any money on something so frivolous"., but after much thought and not having cable/sat money every month (had both at different times). I decided to go a way I actually think more people are going anyway, since the powers that be are  , i.m.o., pricing themselves out of the reach for a lot of people. I heard about the "noise filter" value of the amp. :)
I know I said it would be set up the next day, but, hopefully today. Doing it myself so no one to blame but me.

Well, from a newbie to a multi-poster, thanks for the reply :) :!:
