HDMI audio

So if you have a home theater receiver that accepts hdmi input, does dd and dts go through hdmi too? or do you still need to use the optical/coaxial input? I know it's digital sound but wasnt sure if it included dd and dts.

The audio is passed through the HDMI connection.

You will still need an audio reciever that outputs DD to your 5.1 speakers. Optical from STB to AV reciever is the best way to go.
