I disconnected and then reconnected my HD receiver from my Mitsubishi WS55313 (2004) and now I don't get a good picture. At first I didn't get any picture or sound. I spent a lot of time reading the manual and trying disconnecting/reconnecting the component cables. I can take my receiver upstairs and hook it up using the exact same cables to my new HD TV and it works fine.
I finally got sound but a bad picture (horizontal lines) on my Mitsubishi after turning off the Video Mute setting while using the Component-1 input. I couldn't get any picture or sound using the DTV input until I went into the Service Menu and changed the DTV setting from Auto to either 480p, 480i or 1080i. Using this I get sound and get a similar picture with either horizontal lines on non-HD channels with either 480 or vertical lines at 1080i on HD channels and can sometimes "see" a face or words scrolling across the screen.
My husband isn't too happy and can't understand why the TV just stopped working after being only 3 years old when it was disconnected and then reconnected to the HD receiver. Any ideas?? I've been reading posts and trying to power off, disconnect, reconnect cables, etc. but am very frustrated.
DTV/Comp inputs not working after reconnecting HD receiver

Some HD monitors allow more than one input source, i.e. component, video, HDMI, SVHS, etc. for "input 1", etc. for instance. Make sure that you only are using one of the inputs on that particular input. I hope I am making sense - it's kind of hard to explain.

I changed back to Auto and now I get sound (with Video Mute off) and usually a black screen, but occassionally the screen flashes color horizontal lines and then goes back to black.Richard wrote:Change it back to auto or you will just be fighting yourself...I went into the Service Menu and changed the DTV setting from Auto to either 480p, 480i or 1080i
This TV will not accept 720p so check that as well on your receiver, maybe you hit the scan rate/format button by mistake.
What does that mean?
Also, when you said that maybe I hit the scan rate/format button, did you mean on the TV or HD receiver?
I don't see anything in a menu on the TV for scan rate/format and I don't see any buttons on the receiver that say that.
