Motorola DCT-6416 volume control wont work

Guys, thanks for your tips, and rest assured I have already done that as well. Here is the issue, the remote control/cable box will not allow volume adjustments. The animated visual bars move indicating a volume change, yet there is no difference in volume. If I want to change the volume, I must press the TV mode button, and the remote will then work. This box replaces an idential (albeit non-pvr motorola model) product that allowed the volume levels to be adjusted. The only difference is that this model is hooked up with hdmi cable

I myself use a harmony and fully endorse what you say, but something as simple as this shouldn't warrant the need for it.

I don't think you understood what bobby_c posted. What you did was program the TV code so when you select the TV device the volume controls the TV. What he posted was a global volume override code so that no matter which device you have selected the volume will always control the TV. Try it.
