Disappointed in Samsung
I bought an LNT5265 Samsung in August 2007. I have had trouble with the picture going out. After 3 service calls, with the tv out 3 weeks each time, Samsung says they will replace it because the part is not available. They want to replace it with the same model.....no other option!! I bought the top of the line Samsung 52" LCD 6 months ago ----- I don't want the same TV that they don't have parts for. I want it replaced with the top of the line Samsung LCD TV. I am in the market for two more tv's (46"), I guess they won't be Samsung. Obviously, I am very disappointed.

disappointed in Samsung
friend of mine purchased Sammy 46' LCD also(LN-T4665), but raved about the customer svc-they came to his house, made adjustmentds to improve picture quality, ionstalled firmware upgrades, and called back for follow-up!! On the other hand, i purchased a BD-UP5000 Duo bluray/Hd-DVD player(soon to be discontinued) and wound up returning it because it needed too many firmware upgrades that should have been in the player when i bought it(ability to play the new hi-res codecs, for instance). they promised to send me a disc that would resolve some problems re the ability to play some discs-it came 3 days after i returned it! they have a new machine due 5/08,probably the machine that they should have released in 12/07.

Samsung is being sued over "defective" BR players
I do not have the cite here, but is on this forum somewhere recently or in a newsletter I get, but added to Sammie's QC issues; it is being sued for fraud for "knowingly" releasing defective products. This regards their BR players, but you might use the data if you call Samsung back to discuss the situation with them. The lack of parts for a new TV that had problems from the git-go smacks of something similar. You could add this on to your "I don't want the same TV that they don't have parts for. I want it replaced with the top of the line Samsung LCD TV." argument.

Before we go piling on... I may not be fully informed but the Samsung bluray lawsuit has far more to with the bluray standards or lack there of rather than them screwing the pooch. My understanding is ALL 1st gen players are going to have problems so it would appear this has far more to do with being first on the firing line due to being the first with a player.
