Bulb problem?

Post by rkeller700 »

I replaced the bulb for the WD57732 and installed it in the cartridge but I have a "halo" effect (the best way to describe it) around the images, especially printed letters. Any idea what is causing this?

I still have not seen one of these... it's either a cleaning or needs a light engine.

I guess that it would be better described as a cloudy image. I had them take it in and it came back the same way. Is there a way for me to clean anything in case that's the problem? It's only 1 year old.

Plasma is next for me.

Light Engine

Post by rkeller700 »

After having a second technician that is an authorized Mits repair agent and having him also perplexed, he called Mitsubishi. He said they think it's the light engine as well. The cost is approximately $1200 and I can't believe what a rip this has been. Including a new bulb and a repair on the "overheating bulb" signal I have spent already $500 fixing a TV that I have had just over ONE year!

Now they want another $1200?!

This is totally unacceptable. Any ideas?
