selecting wireless router for streaming HD video

johnsidle Wed Oct 14, 2009 4:29 pm

I need some help selecting a wireless router. I will be attaching to a Bresnan Cable 8 Mbps internet connection and want to connect wirelessly to a PC running Linux with Mythtv installed. The path will be about 35 feet through frame construction, upstairs to downstairs. I want to be prepared to stream present video (Hulu, etc.) and HD streams (don't know whether any are available at present).

I am sure a 802.11n unit will be needed. Dual band? What throughput speed will I need? Anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions on brands and models?
