HDMI Denon AVR-588 =No Audio?

Sorry, but I am stumped on this one...

I looked up the manual for a 42LE5400. Not impressed with the support. They do not discuss the digital audio out at all.

All I can suggest is look at your audio settings. Maybe they are manipulating the output. One specifically:

Sound Mode: Select the sound mode to Standard,
Music, Cinema, Sport, and Game.

static from speakers

Will that stop the static I'm hearing coming from the speakers..its a crackling sound...

Nope. Static must be coming from the speaker wires. There won't be any static with digital audio into the receiver.

Casoff, you will have to try it, I don't know if that will resolve your problem.

Akirby mentions speaker wires but my understanding things are fine except for getting TV sound, hence it would not be speaker wires, and the problem remains something directly related to TV sound.
