What happened to your previous column about this subject?
On that column you claimed that LG Display will not produce a large OLED panel, but on this one you are saying they will. I could not find the first column on your web site either. Is this a correction of your earlier column that is not anymore available?
I was surprised when I read your first column where you claimed that LG would not produce large OLED panels because I personally attended a press meeting with LG Display at the recent CES 2011 held at a separate hotel where they announced their plans for the large OLED panels in front of about 100 journalists.
The main subject of the meeting was to announce their switch from active-shutter to passive 3D panels but the executives used the presentation to also (very casually) announce that a large OLED panel will be released next year.
Many of us in the attendance froze by the announcement considering so many stop-and-go events of OLED by various manufacturers over the years, and for a minute I thought that perhaps the Korean accent was playing tricks with their statements, so I decided to ask for a clarification, but Scott Wilkinson, the online editor of Ultimate AV magazine asked first and the answer was “yes, we are planning to release a large screen OLED next year”. Scott asked once again. The answer was "yes" again.
