ICQ, AIM, MSN and Yahoo are instant messaging programs that allow you to type live back and forth with another person or even as a group or conference. If you use these and would like other members to know you can be reached this way then enter your info for that service and a button will appear on all of your posts for others to reach you by. For more information on these services please use your favorite internet search engine.

Website requires a full URL such as http://www.hdlibrary.com and a button will appear in your posts.

Location, if filled out, will be listed in your posts on the left side along with your user name.

Occupation and interests show up only when a logged in member clicks on your profile button.

Signature inserts a line below your post and adds the text you have entered. BBC and HTML code is allowed for creating links. Dealers and ISF calibrators use this feature to create a Virtual Business Card. Please contact [email protected] if you would like this setup for you.

Always show my e-mail address: refers to a button that appears in your posts so other members can easily contact you via email.

Hide your online status: refers to the very bottom of the index page which shows the members that are logged in and currently using the site. We recommend no.

Always notify me of replies: is fully explained. If you select no you can still use this feature on a case by case basis by simply selecting the Notify me when a reply is posted option in the posting screen.

Notify on new Private Message: This service is similar to email except that you view and respond to them at HD Library only. If you select yes then you will receive an email that one is waiting for you at HD Library. We recommend yes.

Pop up window on new Private Message: Selecting yes means when you log in a window will pop up to inform you that you have received a Private Message on your account. Selecting no means the only indication will be at the top of the forum where it will say you have a private message waiting for you. We recommend yes.

Always attach my signature: If you select no you can still use this feature on a case by case basis by simply selecting the Attach signature option in the posting screen.

Always allow BBCode: and Always allow HTML: are features for inserting images, fonts, text size and links. We recommend you leave these set for yes.

Board Language: and Board Style: are features not used at HD Library. There is nothing here to change.

Timezone: is used to set the site to your time zone when logged in only. The board is set for EST if you are not logged in.
EST = GMT -5
CST = GMT -6
MST = GMT -7
PST = GMT -8

Date format: is used to change the way the date is displayed. We recommend you leave it as is. If you should need to recover the original settings please copy and paste the following.

Avatars are the special images you see to the right of members posts that are not related to HD Library. The image size must be 100X100 pixels or less. The three choices are self explanatory.
