Mits CRT RPTV display problem

Post by akirby »

Help! I've lost the top 2 inches of my display - it's black. I don't think the picture is shifted, but it's possible. This is an almost 2 yr old 55" Diamond. It's the same on the DTV input and Input 1 (Svideo) as well as the advanced user convergence menu. It's just gone!

I do want to meet Richard but I was hoping it would be for a calibration and not a repair! I've tried turning it off and back on with no change.

I have seen this before on one set, just as you describe it. We never completely figured it out but believe it to be a bad connection to the DM module. Mits speculated on several possibilities, including a bad DM module or, much less likely, a bad convergence module.

We think the problem was fixed by re-seating the connectors to the DM.

What model exactly is your set?

I just powered everything down, checked cables and turned it back on and now it's working fine again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the next few weeks. Hopefully it won't reoccur.
