The Television Syndication Company has completed production of 13 half-hour episodes of The Mickey Finn Show, a musical variety series shot in HDTV using five cameras and engineering from HD VISION, Inc. The series is set to debut on public broadcasting stations across the U.S. in September 2001, with New York's WLIW originating the weekly broadcasts.

FOR BROADCAST IN THE U.S. AND WORLDWIDE BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER The Television Syndication Company (TVS) wrapped production on the initial 13 half-hour programs in its new musical variety series titled ìThe Mickey Finn Showî last week. The series is headed for weekly broadcasts on public broadcasting stations across the USA and networks worldwide beginning in September of this year. Featuring high-energy music by The Mickey Finn Band and a wide variety of guest entertainers from around the world, the series was taped before live audiences over a period of five days in Florida. Shows were produced and directed by Bob Yde, utilizing five HDTV cameras and engineering from HD VISION, Inc. and a production team from Dallas and Florida. Orlando based distributor The Television Syndication Company, Inc. is working with American Public Television to clear public broadcasting stations across the USA. New Yorkís WLIW will originate the weekly broadcasts. Fresh out of college back in 1966, Fred ìMickeyî Finn established his own nightspot in San Diego. NBC caught the exciting musical show filled with everything from Dixieland to ragtime, as well as ample audience participation, and made it a part of their weekly lineup. Finn stayed on to draw millions of people to his club over the next 14 years and then headlined the best of the Las Vegas showrooms for a lengthy period of time. TVS hooked up with Finn towards the end of last year and turned the creation of the new television series over to its inhouse production company, White Mountain Entertainment. With a capacity crowd of 850 people looking on for two shows each night, the initial 13 shows in the series were completed in record time. Network television audiences and airline passengers throughout the world will soon begin enjoying ìThe Mickey Finn Showî on a regular basis. |
