APS Offers Rental of 24p and 30i HD Camcorders
Expanding its Portfolio of HD Services

Seattle, WA, October 10, 2000-- APS (American Production Services) has announced the availability of three HD camcorders for rent, including two Sony HDW-F900 CineAltaís for 24-frame progressive, and one Sony HDW-700A for 30-frame interlaced HD acquisition. The camcorders are equipped with Canon HJ18x 7.8B IAS HD lenses, Sony Lithium batteries, matte boxes, filters, as well as Sony RMB-150 Remote Control packages.

"We offer HD camcorder rentals as a complement to our full line of HD services, including HD production, 24p and 30i HD editorial, and resolution independent graphics and animation, so that our customers will have the convenience of one-stop shopping,î says Barry Ballanger, Director of Engineering for APS, with facilities in Seattle and Los Angeles, CA. "For those renting cameras and booking time in our HD edit suites, we offer attractive package pricing."

Considered a digital cinematography breakthrough, the Sony HDW-F900 CineAlta 24p HD camcorder lets filmmakers shoot video with near film (1920 x 1080) resolution, with 24 frame per second progressive scanning that further enhances the film look.

"The two new Sony HDW-F900 camcorders are an upgrade replacing two older Sony HDW-700 HD camcorders,î adds Ballanger. "While the HDW-700 camcorder was designed for the Japanese HD standard of 1035-line interlaced, the newer HDW-700A--now available for rent-- was engineered from the ground up for the ATSC HD format of 1920 x 1080 lines." The three HD camcorders are immediately available for rent, along with three 14-inch (Sony BVM D14H5U) color HD monitors, and two HDCA-901 HD-SDI digital camera adapters.
