ABC Monday Movie of the Week: Armageddon

ter New York City experiences a "minor" but devastating asteroid shower, the Earth is in for a real shock, as a Texas-sized asteroid hurtles toward the planet for a collision that would kill every living thing — plant and animal. The world's leading deep-core oil driller, Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), is called on to lead two teams on an emergency shuttle mission that will fly to the asteroid to plant a nuclear device at its core. Directing NASA's last-ditch effort is Dan Truman (Billy Bob Thornton). Stamper's daughter, Grace (Liv Tyler), must stay behind as her father and the man she loves (Ben Affleck) embark on their desperate mission to save mankind. The 1998 film was directed by Michael Bay. The screenplay was written by Jonathan Hensleigh and Jeffrey Abrams, from a story by Hensleigh and Robert Roy Pool. This film carries a TV-14, L,V parental guideline. Due to sensitivities surrounding current events and some violent content, viewer discretion is advised.

Englewood Cliffs, NJ, January 21, 2004 -- NBC Cable Networks (NBCC) announced that Bravo HD+ is now available to 1.4 million customers. The announcement was made today by David Zaslav, President, NBCC.  Insight Communications will make the network available to nearly one million subscribers in ten mid-west markets including Louisville, Lexington, and Covington, KY; Kokomo/Lafayette, Anderson/Noblesville, and Evansville, IN; Springfield, Peoria, and Champaign, IL; and Columbus, Ohio.  Additional launches for Bravo HD+ include Cox Communications (Parma, OH); GCI Cable, Inc. (Anchorage, AK); Mediacom Broadband (Des Moines, IA); Patriot Media Communications (Somerset, NJ); Blue Ridge Communications (Stroudsburg, PA); and Service Electric Cablevision (Sundbury, PA).

"Bravo HD+ provides consumers with a truly unique viewing experience," said Zaslav.  "It is the only place to see exclusive arts and entertainment content that is 100% HD 24/7."  Zaslav continued, "As sales of HD televisions increase, so will the demand for HD programming.  Bravo HD+ is one of the few cable networks where consumers can enjoy the benefits of HD programming."

Now in Hi-Definition every weekday on Discovery HD Theater.

Starting January: Monday — Friday every week, 1 p.m. ET/PT

On Superbowl Sunday...

...technology trend watchers expect many football fans will be as excited about watching the big game in high definition as they are about the actual event.

But what if the game's a rout?  What if youÂ’ve got one of the over 600,000 new HD sets purchased last December alone and want to take your friends for an HD test drive?  Or - could this be real - what if there's not a football fan in the house?  What other programming could possibly compete on February 1st?

Discovery HD Theater, a 24/7 network offering true high def content, plans to offer an extraordinary evening of HD viewers in any one of the above situations.  Offering the best of the HD best, Superbowl Sunday will feature programs of especially eye-popping features in 1080i HD.  Called Super Bowl Showcase: The Xs and Os of HD, the Discovery HD Theater extravaganza will feature a broad range of entertainment options all in crystal clear HD.  Plus, viewers who tune in will be treated to the first-ever sneak peek trailers of ARCTIC MISSION, a high def adventure through the beautiful, unexplored region of the world - the Arctic.  The series begins on Feb. 24 at 9 pm ET.

Below are brief descriptions of programming planned for Super Bowl Showcase.  For more information, please contact me.  Thanks for your time.
