Blackwater Lightship

The Blackwater Lightship, a new
"Hallmark Hall of Fame" drama, tells the
story of how three generations of strong
and independent women learn to deal with
their decades-long differences when a
beloved son, Declan (Keith McErlean),
shares the news that he has AIDS. The
three women in Declan's life--his
grandmother, Dora (Angela Lansbury), a
crusty old woman who tries to hold the
fragile family together; his mother,
Lily (Dianne Wiest), who left her
children years ago with Dora when their
father was dying, and his sister, Helen
(Gina McKee), now married with two
children--have become alienated from one
another over the years. They are forced
to confront one another when Declan
reveals that he is in the final stages
of AIDS and wants to come home to Dora's
house on the coast of Ireland for what
may be his last visit with his family.

Our guests surprise a loved one with
a makeover of part of their home or
yard, with the help of designers
Robert Verdi and Rebecca Cole. Armed
with some paint, a slide rule or
two, and their own brand of creative
ingenuity, Robert and Rebecca depend
on the kindness of strangers — in
this case, the homeowner's family
and friends — to get the job done.
In one day. With a budget that can't
exceed $2,500. In each episode, they
squeeze in a "Quick Change": a
super-fast, and super-cheap, smaller
project. Now in Hi-Definition every
weekday on Discovery HD Theater.

Rob Jacobson, Chief Operating
Officer of INHD parent company, iN
DEMAND Networks.

to the start of the 26th
Annual Academy Awards and will be
carried in standard definition on E!
and simulcast in HDTV on INHD.
During the live two-hour preshow,
hosts Joan and Melissa Rivers will

INHD AND PGA TOUR
WILL BROADCAST LIVE FROM AT&T PEBBLE
BEACH NATIONAL PRO-AM GOLF
TOURNAMENT
INHD Will Air “Live@7” Both Live and
Taped Coverage of Famed Par 3 7th
Hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links on
February 5th and 6th
New York – February
2, 2004
– INHD -- the 24-hour
linear all high-definition network
-- and the PGA TOUR have reached an
agreement that allows INHD to
present live high-definition
coverage of Pebble Beach Golf LinksÂ’
famous 7th hole during
the 2004 AT&T Pebble Beach National
Pro-Am Tournament. The announcement
was made by David Asch, Vice
President of Strategic Planning &
Product Management, iN DEMAND
Networks, and Donna Orender, Senior
Vice President of Strategic
Development for the PGA TOUR.
The “Live@7”
broadcast will feature live
tournament play from the Pebble
Beach Golf LinksÂ’ par-3 7th
hole on Thursday, Feb. 5th
and Friday, Feb. 6th from
1:30 pm – 3:00 pm ET. Additionally,
INHD will also broadcast five hours
of taped coverage of tournament play
on the 7th hole on Feb. 5
and 6 beginning at 9 pm ET.
The 106-yard 7th
hole is among the most famous and
picturesque holes in all of golf,
and coincidentally, those same
attributes also make it the perfect
setting for HDTVÂ’s superb picture
quality and resolution. The shortest
hole in major championship golf, the
green is protected by six bunkers
and partially surrounded by rocks
leading into the Pacific Ocean.
With a significant tee-to-green drop
and full exposure to the Pacific
Ocean, the wind becomes the major
factor on the hole. Players have
used a sand wedge on one day of the
tournament and a six-iron on another
day.
Jay Randolph and
Mitch Voges will be stationed at No.
7 and provide commentary throughout
the telecast. Entire-day coverage
of the 7th hole will be
simulcast live on the Internet,
similar to PGATOUR.COMÂ’s innovative
“Live@17”
during THE PLAYERS Championship.
Check at PGATOUR.COM for details.
“This is a terrific
opportunity for INHD to team up with
the PGA TOUR, and for golf fans
with HDTV sets tuned to INHD to
experience the action on the seventh
hole with the added picture clarity
and resolution that is only possible
with HD,” said INHD VP, Strategic
Planning & Product Management David
Asch. “This partnership reflects
INHD's continuing commitment to
bringing cable's HD audience the
best marquee sporting events cable
has to offer."
"The PGATOUR is always enthused
about marrying new technologies that
can enhance our unique and
compelling content,”
Orender said. “Golf
is the perfect sport to take
advantage of high definition's
ability to bring the vibrancy of the
game to life. We're pleased to
partner with INHD to present this
emerging format to our fans during
the AT&T Pebble Beach National
Pro-Am, at one of the most scenic
and exciting holes in golf.”
Played at Pebble
Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf
Course and Poppy Hills Golf Course,
the AT&T Pebble Beach National
Pro-Am has become one of the most
famous golf tournaments in the
world. Featuring the top PGA TOUR
stars playing with major celebrities
from the entertainment and sports
worlds such as Kevin Costner, Oscar
de la Hoya, Bill Murray, Joe Pesci
and Ray Romano, among others, the
AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am is
among the oldest stops on the PGA
TOUR, dating back to 1937.
Net proceeds from the
AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am go
to support a wide variety of
charitable organizations. To date,
the Monterey Peninsula Foundation,
which stages the tournament, has
made charitable donations totaling
$46 million.

judging on Tuesday, February 10th.
“We’re thrilled about this
opportunity to team up with USA
Network for this premiere event
which over the years has established
itself among a select group of
cable’s highest rated programs.”
said Jacobson. “The availability of
such high caliber programming as the
Westminister Kennel Club competition
is significant not only for its
appeal to fans of the competition
but also because it sends a message
to consumers at large that more high
quality programming is becoming
available in HD from their local
cable providers.”
“Televising the Westminster Kennel
Club Dog Show in high definition
adds another dimension to USA
NetworkÂ’s unrivaled history with
this prestigious event,” said
Holloway. “We are very excited to
offer HD technology to INHD and our
affiliates for the first time for
this annual fun-filled and unique
program.”
Group competition on breeds and
varieties for MondayÂ’s program will
be judged in the following order:
Working, Terrier, Toy,
Non-sporting. The judging sequence
for TuesdayÂ’s group competition will
be Sporting, Hound, and Herding.
The 2004 WKC will for the first time
allow 3 new breeds to be judged in
the competition: Retriever (Nova
Scotia Duck Tolling), German
Pinscher, and Toy Fox Terrier.
This marks the second partnership
between INHD and USA Network. In
September 2003, INHD carried
numerous matches of the celebrated
US Open Tennis Championships in HD.
INHD AND UNITED STATES OLYMPIC
COMMITTEE REACH HIGH DEFINITION
TELECAST AGREEMENT
USOC and IOC Allow INHD to
Convert Historic Original & Official
Archival Films
To High Definition Format for
Exclusive Broadcasts on INHD; Many
Celebrated Performances and Rarely
Seen Moments in Olympic History
Agreement Furthers
INHDÂ’s Commitment to Unique,
Top-Quality Programming
New York, February 02, 2004 –
INHD, the new 24-hour linear high
definition network, and the United
States Olympic Committee (USOC),
have reached an exclusive,
multi-year agreement to restore,
transfer, convert and broadcast --
in high definition format --
official archival films from more
than 16 Summer and Winter Olympic
Games, it was announced today.
The agreement marks the first time
the USOC – under the auspices of the
International Olympic Committee
(IOC) and the Olympic Television
Archive Bureau (OTAB) -- has allowed
these priceless official films to be
converted to high definition
format. In fact, representatives of
the IOC and OTAB have escorted the
footage from around the world to
INHDÂ’s transfer facility to monitor
the process.
INHD will next be televising the
high definition-formatted footage on
February 8, 2004.
While many of the films being
transferred to high definition are
the official Olympic films shot and
produced by world-renowned Olympic
historian Bud Greenspan and Cappy
Productions, a significant portion
of the library gathered by INHD is
one-of-a-kind official films from
various individual host-country
Olympic archives.
“This is not just sports
programming, but truly historical
programming that in many cases has
rarely, if ever, been seen by U.S.
television audiences in any format,
not to mention high definition,”
said Rob Jacobson, Chief Operating
Officer of INHD. “We’re extremely
pleased that the USOC and the IOC
has entrusted INHD with the high def
conversion and exhibition
of these invaluable films. We,
along with our conversion facility,
Global Vision in Montreal, are
painstakingly handling this with the
utmost care.”
“The USOC is very proud of our
heritage and the significant mark
U.S. teams and athletes have made in
the world of sport,” said Keith Allo,
Chief of Entertainment Properties
and Brand Marketing, USOC. “Most of
these films were shot in a 16:9
ratio, so it should be a real treat
for Americans to have this unique
opportunity to relive some of the
greatest moments in Olympic history
in the wonderful format of HD.”
Films from the Olympic Games
scheduled to be transferred to high
definition and televised by INHD
include: the 1948 London Games (the
first post-WWII games); the 1948 St.
Moritz Games (Gretchen Fraser
becomes first American to win gold
in Skiing); the 1956 Melbourne Games
(USAÂ’s Bobby Morrow wins three gold
medals in Track & Field); the 1960
Rome Games (featuring Cassius Clay
and Wilma Rudolph); the 1960 Squaw
Valley Games (the first gold medal
for the U.S. in ice hockey); the
1964 Tokyo Games (Bob Hayes becomes
the “World’s Fastest Human”); the
1964 Innsbruck Games (the Austrian
Army saves the Games by trucking
snow and ice to competition sites);
1968 Mexico City Games (Bob Beamon
and Dick Fosbury and the “Fosbury
Flop”); the 1972 Munich Olympics
(Mark SpitzÂ’s seven gold medals);
the 1972 Sapporo Games (the first
Winter Olympics held outside Europe
or the U.S.); the 1976 Montreal
Games (Nadia Comaneci’s “Perfect 10”
achieves gold); 1976 Innsbruck Games
(19-year-old Dorothy Hamill wins
Gold in Figure Skating); the 1980
Lake Placid Olympics (the “Miracle
on Ice” for USA Hockey); the 1984
Los Angeles Games (USA dominates in
Communist-block boycott); the 1988
Seoul Games (Greg LouganisÂ’
double-gold in diving; Florence
Griffith-Joyner dominates the
sprints); and the 1992 Barcelona
Games (the first USA Basketball
Dream Team).
Additionally, INHD will convert and
televise in high definition the
official 1980 Moscow Olympics Film.
Many Western nations, including the
United States, boycotted the first
Olympics to be held behind the “Iron
Curtain” as a result of the Soviet
UnionÂ’s invasion of Afghanistan.
Much of this competitionÂ’s historic
footage has never been seen in the
U.S.
“The conversion of these films will
bring to life historic and
world-famous athletic performances
in the way only high definition on
digital cable can,” continued
Jacobson. “INHD has made it
priority one to secure the best
programming available for our
digital cable distributors and
viewers. Whether it be live sports
-- like baseball or basketball -- or
unique sports programming like these
official Olympic films, INHD
continues to prove its unique value
in this mega-multi-channel world.”
INHD is the new 24/7 all-HD
television network that features
commercial-free movies, professional
sports, college sports and general
interest programming that maximizes
the HD television experience. Live
INHD professional sports broadcasts
include coverage of Major League
Baseball and the National Basketball
Association. Additionally, the
INHD2 channel enables local cable
operators to pre-empt scheduled
programming to showcase local
professional sporting events of
interest to their subscribers. INHD
is owned and operated by iN DEMAND
Networks. Company shareholders are
Comcast iN DEMAND Holdings, Inc.,
Cox Communications, Inc. and Time
Warner Entertainment – Advance/Newhouse
Partnership. Further information
