In reality, they are on the verge of breaking up and, after their daughter's wedding, decide to take a road trip in order to work out the details of their impending divorce without the interference of greedy lawyers. Everything is going as planned until a snowstorm causes them to lose their direction and they wind up stranded. Fearing that they will never be found, the two begin to open up to one another in a way they haven't in many years, revealing the sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic truth about themselves and their marriage.

When a solid citizen robs a bank and is killed by a bomb tied around his neck, Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) suspect that the victim had an accomplice who triggered the device, and they soon hone in on the murderer's (guest star Charles Rockot) next unwitting associate -- a bored New Jersey hausfrau (guest star Enid Graham). The investigators piece together the pair's bank-heist patterns, but they have to establish probable cause if they are to save the duped woman from a horrible death. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star.
