As the anti-war movement gains momentum, Meg (Brittany Snow) and Sam (Arlen Escarpeta) get caught in the crossfire at an anti-war rally and finds themselves taking a stand that may have severe consequences in their future. Jack (Tom Verica) also takes a stand on Beth (Rachel Boston) and her marital status as he begins his campaign for city councilman. Helen (Gail O'Grady) makes a shocking discovery at work and Patty (Sarah Ramos), disappointed with her first date, turns to Roxanne (Vanessa Lengies) for advice. Meanwhile, JJ (Will Estes) and his squad are surrounded by the Viet Cong and under heavy gunfire when they are told they will not be receiving backup and will be on their own. Wyclef Jean (formerly with The Fugees, "Killing Me Softly") guest-stars as Curtis Mayfield singing "Woman's Got Soul," Alex Band and Aaron Kamin of The Calling ( "Wherever You May Go" ) guest-stars as college protest singers, and Jack Ford ("Living It Up with Ali & Jack") guest-stars as Professor Powers. Jonathan Adams and Ethan Dampf also star.

"A Murderer Among Us"
When an Argentine immigrant is found slashed and beaten in the family's bathroom, Detectives Goren (VIncent D'Onofrio) and Bishop (guest star Samantha Buck) believe the wounds were self-inflicted -- but her husband's (guest star Thomas G. Waites) history of violence makes the police think he could have been responsible for other racially motivated murders that were discovered by his wife. But since they cannot implicate the suspect in his wife's death, Goren explores the family's tragic history on both sides and struggles to find a link to the kneecap-murders of a string of Jewish men. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star.

"Missing Pieces"
When the prime suspect in a well-publicized, 10-month old kidnapping is found stabbed to death, Jordan (Jill Hennessy) studies the body hoping to use forensic evidence to find the missing girl. Turning up at the police precinct, the lost child claims responsibility for killing her alleged attacker, leaving Jordan and Detective Capra (guest star Arija Bareikis) to sort out the truth behind this murder. Elsewhere, Peter (Ivan Sergei) handles his first solo case when he investigates an unidentified man found striped down to his underwear, beaten to death in the woods. Miguel Ferrer, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Valentine and Ravi Kapoor also star.

Meanwhile, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) meets a beautiful stranger who starts his head spinning. Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow appears as herself and performs in Karen's Café.

Meanwhile, Nina (Stephanie Niznik) leans on Andy for emotional support after she is served with divorce papers, but the genuine affection between the two raises a red flag for Linda (Marcia Cross). Finally, Tommy (guest star Paul Wasilewski) takes Amy (Emily VanCamp) to a party where she finds closure over the loss of Colin (Mike Erwin), but the evening takes a life-threatening turn.
