"The People vs. Achmed Abbas"
The People vs. Achmed Abbas" - David contemplates a number of reasons
for dropping out of the D.A. re-election campaign -- including the
possibility of losing the Jewish community's support, after questions
arise following the discovery of the body of Achmed Abbas. When Mark
investigates, he learns that Abbas was an Iraqi college student who
himself had been accused of murdering seven people at a Jewish
delicatessen ten years earlier, but had gone missing shortly
thereafter and been classified as a fugitive terrorist. Now Mark is
told that, if the D.A.'s office exonerates Abbas in the Delicatessen
slayings, the Jewish community will support David's nemesis, Jerry
Weicker, for D.A. Also, because of their strained friendship, David
doubts that Joe will try to get the employees in the D.A.'s office to
support his re-election campaign, on the season finale.
