8:00PM ET/7:00 C
ABC Monday Movie of the Week: What Lies Beneath

What Lies Beneath tells the story of an apparently ideal couple as they renovate an old family house on the shores of a lake. The mild-mannered professor (Ford) tries to cope with the increasingly disturbing fears and experiences of his wife (Pfeiffer), who is recovering from an horrific auto accident. She can't remember the accident or what led up to it; but when she is home alone, doors open by themselves, picture frames move, the bathtub fills and the dog barks at unseen threats. The situation escalates to the point where she believes the neighbor has killed his wife. The good professor has her consult a psychiatrist but there is no relief from her visions and mounting anxiety.
