Summary

Dale Cripps notes ongoing server transmission issues affecting delivery of the daily HD programming guide, with Seattle server tests showing no latency on their end. The issue includes the full HD schedule for May 6, 2004, covering CBS, PBS, HDNet, and other channels.

Source document circa 2004 preserved as-is

THURSDAY, MAY 6 2004

As you know from an earlier email we are experiencing some kind of trouble that appeared first to be in our server in Seattle. Our Seattle support, however, reports that there is no latency nor slowness in dispensing files at the server. I have had another report from a reader saying that his server started to bog down last night as well. My guess, and it is only that, is that there is something in the transmission path which is slowing the process. Again, from tests done right there at the server there is no latency nor slowness in any other way. We will keep investigating until we get to the bottom of it but for now I will send this guide in hopes that it does reach you. Later today we will be putting out a bulletin with respect to the changes we have made at the web site and the forum. _Dale
