ABC Saturday Movie of the Week: Unbreakable

Director M. Night Shyamalan will host the movie and take audiences further inside his upcoming release, The Village, showcasing an extended look at the film, interviews, and behind-the-scenes access. Go to the The Village's official site for more information and special downloads. In Unbreakable, a horrific train wreck takes the lives of everyone on board except David Dunn (Bruce Willis), who walks away unscathed. A note left on his windshield prompts him to reflect on his miraculous survival and other events in his life. When David tracks down the man that left the note, he encounters Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson). Where David cannot remember ever being sick or injured, Price's life has been filled with physical pain and humiliation due to his fragile body. Price develops a theory about David based on his love of comic book super heroes - a theory he is determined to prove at any cost!

Forensic Factor

Nature's Clues - A murder victim is half-buried in the woods, kilometers from the nearest major thruway or home. When the body is found six weeks later, there is almost nothing left to identify it. It should have been the perfect crime...but for those on the cutting edge of forensic science, nature's influence on the corpse speaks volumes about the murder... and the murderer.

3:30AM ET/2:30 C
Forensic Factor

The Profilers - The murderer strikes seven times, in seven different districts. He waits long enough between his crimes so that at first, the police do not suspect one killer. He has a minor criminal record, but nothing that suggests he is capable of such mass violence. By the time he kills his seventh victim, he has grown confident, even vain, taunting the police with brief calls from payphones. He believes he will never, ever, be caught.

4:30AM ET/3:30 C
Forensic Factor

Lasting Impressions - The killer waits outside the house, cloaked in darkness. He presses his ear to the window, listening to ensure that his victim is asleep. He breaks through the front door with a crowbar, and silently slips toward the bedroom. The crowbar now becomes his murder weapon as he bludgeons his victim to death. He leaves, walks calmly to his car, and drives off. No one has seen him. But he has unwittingly left a plethora of clues all over the scene.

Adaptation.

R Time: 115
A neurotic screenwriter's intense inner struggle to adapt a book about a man who steals a rare flower forms the core of this "bewilderingly brilliant and entertaining" (Roger Ebert) film from director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich). Nicolas Cage does double duty portraying stressed-out scribe Charlie Kaufman and his outgoing, but shallow twin brother Donald. Within their drama lies a second story layer involving the blossoming relationship between the buttoned-down author (Meryl Streep) whose novel Kaufman is adapting and the inspiring, but slightly mad flower thief (Chris Cooper, who won the 2002 Best Supporting Actor Oscar(R) for this performance). "The boldest and most imaginative studio film of the year" (L.A. Times).

Starring Rick Moranis, Marcia Strassman, Robert Oliveri, Daniel and Joshua Shalikar, Amy O'Neill, Lloyd Bridges, John Shea and Keri Russell.
