CBS SPORTS ANNOUNCES FIRST THREE "NFL ON CBS" GAMES TO BE BROADCAST IN
HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION FORMAT
Primary Game Each Week of 2003-04 Season To Be Broadcast In HDTV Format; HD Games Also
Will Be Available on DIRECTV's Exclusive NFL SUNDAY TICKET Package
CBS Sports, which will present its primary game each Sunday of the 17-week 2003
NFL ON CBS regular-season schedule in high definition television in conjunction with
DIRECTV, Inc., announced today its first three games that will be featured in HDTV.
Week 2's HD broadcast will see the New England Patriots take
on the Philadelphia Eagles from the Eagles' new home, Lincoln
Financial Field, on September 14 (4:15 PM, ET) and next week
(3) will see the Cleveland Browns visiting the San Francisco 49ers at 3Com Park in San
Francisco on September 21 (4:15 PM, ET).
THE NFL ON CBS's primary game each week will be called by the Network's lead NFL announce
team of Greg Gumbel and Phil Simms, along with Armen Keteyian reporting. Mark Wolff is the
producer and Larry Cavolina is coordinating director.
THE NFL ON CBS's primary game broadcast...will be made available to subscribers of
DIRECTV's exclusive NFL SUNDAY TICKET package
throughout the 17-week regular-season schedule. The HD games will be regionalized
on the CBS Television Network, but on NFL SUNDAY TICKET will be subject to the NFL's
hometown blackout rule only when the hometown stadium is not sold out. The designation of
the HD game will be determined on a week-to-week basis. These games are being offered as
part of a five-year agreement with the National Football League for exclusive rights to
NFL SUNDAY TICKET. The agreement between CBS and DIRECTV is for the 2003
regular-season only and will be evaluated for renewal after the 2003 season.
The unified productions for the Standard Definition and HD telecasts will feature the same
game announcers, camera angles, replays and graphics. Each HD game also will be broadcast
in 5.1 digital surround sound. Coupled with the clarity of 1080 lines of picture
resolution, the HD broadcast will bring the stadium experience to the viewers' home.

disappeared goes dreadfully wrong, Samantha is in the middle of a dangerous hostage
situation in a bookstore. While Samantha is initially undercover as a hostage, she is
discovered by kidnapper Barry Mashburn to be an FBI agent. Jack successfully negotiates
Samanthas release by substituting himself then continues to negotiate the release of
the handful of other hostages. Meanwhile, the team still searches for Sydney Harrison, the
kidnapping victim.

why he left in the first place. His mother Flo (Roz Ryan,"Amen") is always
understanding and supportive, but his cantankerous father Joe (John Amos, "Good
Times," "West Wing") wants Anthony to abandon his acting hopes and take a
"real job" working in the family beauty salon/barber shop. To complicate things,
Anthony's old room is being rented out to Lydia (Aimee Garcia, "Greetings From
Tucson"), a female medical student, leaving Anthony alone in the garage.
