    TV/Computer Monitor is the First to Ship with Web, Email and Program Guide Capability Built-in

    WCES LAS VEGAS, NV. (January 5, 2001) Princeton Graphic Systems®, manufacturer of multiple award-winning HDTV monitors, computer and convergence displays, introduces the AI3.6HD, a 36" viewable 4:3 direct-view CRT, NTSC TV/computer monitor with integrated Ch.1&Mac250; internet services for enhanced TV and internet functionality. Performance, size and versatility are the strong suits of the AI3.6HD monitor system which supports video, 480p, 1080i and 720p (letterbox) digital formats as well as displaying VGA, SVGA and XGA graphics from computer sources. The Ch.1 enabled AI3.6HD is scheduled to begin shipping in January 2001 with a suggested list price of $3,499.00.

    The AI3.6HD offers an impressive list of firsts for the television industry. The inclusion of Ch.1&Mac226;s interactive services, which offers high resolution internet access, web browsing, email, chat and entertainment guide, will make the AI3.6 the first to ship with these capabilities built-in and fully integrated. With its integrated universal remote/keyboard/mouse the display is the first to fully provide a complete single commander for a Web enabled home entertainment system. The AI3.6HD is the first television to integrate DVDO&Mac226;s state of the art line doubler for unequalled performance from all standard video sources. Princeton was also the first to introduce a television with full HDTV and XGA computer capabilities. Completing the TV receiver&Mac226;s firsts are multiple aspect ratio controls and four color memory settings for ideal picture display of any source material.

    Featuring a wide video bandwidth of 40 MHz and dual auto-detect Y, Pb, Pr to RGB transcoder matrices for 480p and HDTV, the data/video AI3.6HD offers a superb rendition of DTV and computer signals with unsurpassed clarity, detail and color accuracy. With a horizontal scanning frequency of 30-50 kHz, the AI3.6HD is capable of displaying 720p HDTV signals letterboxed in their native mode. 720p display capability is a rarity in digital-ready and HD sets because of the format&Mac226;s high horizontal scanning frequency of 45 kHz. Featuring multiple inputs, four aspect ratio presets and four adjustable color temperature settings to accommodate a variety of applications, the AI3.6HD is Plug and Play compatible with VGA, SVGA and XGA resolutions from PC and Macintosh computer sources. A built-in NTSC tuner, standard IR discrete remote and RS-232C serial communications port completes the display&Mac226;s versatility.

    Ch.1 is fully integrated and built into the AI3.6HD offering high resolution internet access, email, chat and a programmable TV program guide. Not requiring any external computer processor, Ch.1 offers (SVGA) 800 x 600 rendering of web pages through its full-featured browser with email and chat services from a dial up ISP service or optional T1, DSL or cable modem connection. The Ch.1 portal opens with customizable TV and web favorites for up to five users. The localized TV program guide offers story synopsis, actors, production date, director, rating and link to the network&Mac226;s web site. To operate the system, an integrated keyboard/remote/pointing device and a multi-device universal remote for TV, Cable, satellite, VCR, hard disk recorders, and a/v receivers is included with the AI3.6HD.

    To improve the resolution of all standard video sources including the TV tuner, Princeton included performance-enhancing refinements such as a built-in DVDO3 PureProgressive&Mac250; line doubler. The integrated chipset implementation of the award-winning line doubler offers several advantages over the outboard version. Those include direct connectivity to component video 480i signals from DVD, variable edge enhancement and control of color and tint. The motion-adaptive de-interlacing doubler features auto source detection to employ a 3:2 pulldown technique if a film source is identified. This advanced performance creates a progressively scanned 480p image that is interlace artifact-free and better than those from expensive stand-alone line doublers/scalers costing thousands of dollars.

    The AI3.6HD features an unparalleled input/output array for maximum versatility . Inputs include one RF input (with TV tuner composite video output and a pair of stereo audio outputs), two S-Video inputs (1 front, 1 rear), two composite inputs (1 front, 1 rear), one set of component video 480i inputs (for standard DVD players) on 75 ohm BNC connectors, one set of HD component video inputs (YPbPr) on 75 ohm BNC connectors, a set of RGBHV inputs on 75 ohm BNC connectors and one front panel VGA input (RGBHV) on a Dsub 15-pin HD connector. Five pairs of stereo audio inputs, two front panel USB inputs and an RS-232C serial communications port are also provided.

    To take full advantage of the Invar shadow mask CRT&Mac226;s ability to render HD source material, the display has been engineered with a high quality adaptive Y/C comb filter, variable and defeatable scan velocity modulation, dynamic edge to edge focus, four color temperature presets 5400k/6500k/9300k/cu stom, dynamic high voltage regulator for picture and gray scale stability, true raster collapse for full vertical resolution in letterbox mode, multi-aspe ct ratios with geometry control, auto-detect NTSC/ATSC color matrixes, MTS, SAP and closed captioning.

    Responsibly engineered to be EPA Energy Star&Mac250; and VESA&Mac250; compliant, the UL, CUL, DHHS, FCC Class B approved AI3.6HD features exceptional build quality to ensure many years of trouble-free, environment-friendly usage.     HDTV Tuner Supports Both Component And RGB Outputs

    Princeton Graphic Systems®, a leading manufacturer of award-winning computer and HDTV display products, introduces the HDT-2000 HDTV Receiver and Scaler. The receiver's tuner supports all 18 ATSC as well as VHF/UHF/CTV NTSC formats. Standard NTSC signals from sources such as a DVD player, DSS, VCR, hard disk recorder or cable are scaled to 1080i resolution for high definition displays. The HDT-2000 out performs early HDTV tuners&Mac226; ability to reliably --receive signals from sources where multi-path interference occurs. The HDT-2000 has a suggested list price of $899.00 and will be shipping in January 2001.

    The HDT-2000 offers standard NTSC inputs from one S-Video connection, one composite input on a RCA connector and one RF input on an f-type connector. ATSC high definition is accommodated by one RF input on a second f-type connection. Both standard and high definition sources are output in high definition 1080i resolution via either component video (Y, Pb, Pr) from three RCA jacks or RGBHV on a VGA type 15-pin dSub connection. An auxiliary input is provided for processing the 2-channel audio from a VCR or DVD player. Audio from the ATSC signal is output via 6 RCA pre outputs in 5.1 channel or can be downmixed to stereo for external amplification.

    The high definition 8-VSB demodulated ATSC tuner has been designed to facilitate reception from even the most difficult and problematic installations .Utilizing a state-of-the-art reception system, the HDT-2000 can more reliably display signals when multi-path distortion or interference is prevalent. For applications where an indoor antenna is necessary or where tree tops and other buildings obstruct line-of-sight transmission of on-air station broadcasts, the tuner can better pull in and lock on these hard to display HD signals than other tuners in its class.

    The receiver's on-screen display and remote control offers a complete menu of features and allows easy set up and usage. A Freeze Frame and nine-quadrant Zoom Feature bring viewers closer to any material's action. An RS-232C serial communications port for software download or control complete the display's versatility.
