FEATURING 10 HOURS OF LIVE HD
COVERAGE FROM COUNTDOWN, RED CARPET AND POST SHOW
NEW YORK, NY - September 16, 2004 - INHD, cable's
most widely distributed all high definition network, has reached
an agreement with E! Entertainment Television to telecast Live
From The Red Carpet: The 2004 Emmy® Awards taking place September
19 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM ET/PT. INHD will feature 10 hours of live,
high-definition coverage showcasing, only the way HD can, the pomp
and circumstance of the Emmy® countdown, red carpet arrivals and
post-show. This agreement marks E!'s second partnership with INHD,
following the recent simulcast coverage from Live from the Red
Carpet: Academy Awards®. The announcement was made today by Brad
Fox, Senior Vice President, Affiliate Relations, E! Networks, and
President and CEO of iN DEMAND Networks, Rob Jacobson.
Telecast in standard definition on E! and in HDTV on INHD, the
festivities begin with six hours of coverage from 12:00-6:00 PM
ET/PT on E!'s Live Countdown to the Red Carpet, hosted by popular
E! personality Brooke Burke and KTLA Morning News entertainment
reporter Sam Rubin. Shifting locations to outside of the Los
Angeles Shrine Auditorium, Live From The Red Carpet: The 2004
Emmy® Awards hosted by Star Jones, co-host of ABC's The View, and
fashion expert Robert Verdi will air from 6:00-8:00 PM (ET/PT).
E!'s Live Emmy Awards Post Show hosted by E! News Live anchor John
Burke will be telecast immediately following the awards from 11:00
PM - 1:00 AM ET/PT. Additional talent covering the day's events
include E! News Live correspondents Patrick Stinson and Giuliana
DePandi, E! Online reporter Kristin Veitch, Andrew Firestone and
actor/comedian Mystro Clark.
"After our first very successful foray into HD earlier this year
at the 2004 Academy Awards, we are pleased to be working once
again with iN DEMAND to bring all the excitement of the Emmy's red
carpet to our affiliates and HD viewers," said Fox. "We look
forward to expanding our presence within this rapidly growing
medium at the 2004 Emmys, and moving forward, at all of the major
awards shows and star-studded red carpet events."
The six-hour pre-show will highlight the most sought-after
celebrities and entail all of the glitz and glamour of fame while
the live two-hour show will cover all the excitement from the red
carpet and feature interviews with the nominees, presenters and
other famed stars arriving for the ceremony. Concluding the
ceremony, the "Live Post Show" will provide a two-hour wrap-up
showcasing the winners, the performers and all the post event
celebrations.
"The Red Carpet to the Emmy's is one of the Hollywood's most
prestigious affairs, and certainly the most glamorous
presentation," added Jacobson. "Our partnership with E! Networks
vividly demonstrates our leadership role within the industry in
bringing the HDTV audience the most engaging programs available in
HD." |
