It looks like you’ll be able to sleep in on Black Friday this year, if you’re planning to do your shopping at WalMart. According to reports, the stores will open at midnight for many of the the Black Friday special deals. Unfortunately, if you want consumer electronics devices, the only midnight deal appears to be a Nintendo Wii plus a $50 WalMart gift card for $199.

For the rest of the electronics deals, you’ll have to wait for them to go on sale at 5 AM, and you’ll have until 11 AM to score a bargain. And there are a few bargains to be had. For example, the company will be selling a 32″ LCD HDTV for less than $200, and a 42″ LCD HDTV for less than $400. Yup, those prices got my attention, too. I don’t expect these to be stellar products and the panel performance will likely be less than that of the major brands, but these are impressive prices all the same.

If you want to wait until Saturday, WalMart apparently will be selling a Sony 46″ LCD HDTV for $698.

Clearly, the retailers are getting serious about moving their clogged inventory. At these prices, they probably will sell quite a few sets.
