Qualcomm is giving Sharp a much-needed cash infusion so the Japanese panel-maker can can combine its IGZO backplane technology with the front-plane technology developed by Qualcomm's Pixtronix subsidiary. The goal is a display with LCD-like image quality and lower power consumption.
