Pioneer Elite VSX82TXS--Really need to wait for HDMI 1.3????

I am thinking about buyingt the Pioneer VSX82TXS with 3 HDMI inputs. I will be using it for DTV, an Apple iTV (when realeased) and PS3 BluRay. I have been reading a lot about HDMI 1.2 vs 1.3. Many people say that they are waiting to get an AV Rec with HDMI 1.3. I do not have 1080pTV (have a 1080i sigh...). Do I really need to wait for the 1.3 or will the 1.2 really be just as good for me? I am hoping that someone with more knowledge of the systems than me can provide some much needed advise.
