Stardust - DVD, HD DVD

Just finished watching the HD-DVD of this fantasy/drama/comedy. The plot was a little iffy and predictable, but still a lot of fun. Great scenes and sounds. De Niro was spot on in comedy role. The HD picture was beautiful. The cinematography rivals that of the LOTR series. I kept wondering if Peter Jackson directed it, but he didn't. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well worth the effort!

Yes, this is a great film. However, if Peter Jackson had directed it, it would be 10 hours long in three installments and take 6 discs. :wink:

It has been compared (by its makers) to The Princess Bride which did not become popular as a first-run movie but caught on in video sales later mainly due to word-of-mouth. I think the same thing will happen here.
