Mitsubishi DLP RP WD57732: picture is digitized/pixilated after a few mins run time

I have a WD-57732 that has been giving my PQ issues. All of the repair people, including Mits, that I've called are trying to tell me that I need a new light engine. I tore it down the light engine last night in order to clean all of the optics and I did not have any build-up like many have experienced. However, I still am experiencing this weird digitized image.

Anyway, I'm getting a very strange outline on certain types of color situations. I actually figured it was a light engine/cleaning issue by what I was reading but like I said, that does not appear to be the issue. I have had no warning lights and the TV works well for about 5 mins until I get this "pixelation" issue. The TV was purchased at the beginning of 2007 and I'd like to get another year or two out of it. I've contacted Vigil White @ Mits USA and left a message however, I'd like to make sure what could be causing this before I fork out for a bunch of replacement parts.

When I first turn on the TV it has a nice picture...



Then it slowly degrades to this..



Any help would be appreciated. If anyone has spare parts or is trying to part out the TV, I might be interested.

BTW...I found where folks had supposedly filed a class action against Mits for some of these issues...

I have not seen this problem in this series. I have seen it on others, Mits and different brands. Sorry, but it sure looks like you need a new light engine and it has nothing to do with optics; that said I am not working on your TV. Since Mitsubishi does not allow service centers to repair this assembly to the component level hardly anybody would even know what is causing the problem. By tampering with the light engine there is the possibility that Mits will not accept it as a core - more dollars to you. If you hire someone then be honest and up front and tell them you messed with the light engine.

To be clear, this site does not support DIY repairs. Any further help would revolve around connecting you with a service professional.

What do you mean; "you are not working on my TV"? At the moment NO ONE is working on my TV. Herein, lies the problem.

So, you are saying you know what the problem is? BTW.. You are the first one to say conclusively that you know what it is. Yet you will not divulge to me which component within the LE might be causing this, and at the same time your positive that it isn't the optics...whatever.

I love how you use the word "service professional". Most of the people I have dealt with have been far from professional and only out to make as much money as they can from my misfortune.

Let me be clear as well; I did not "mess" with the light engine. I took it out to examine whether or not I had a build-up on the lenses. I did not, so back in it went and still the SAME problem surfaced. It's a good thing that I did go inside of it to examine, as well. Your so-called 'authorized service professionals' tried to tell me that this was my problem (dust build-up from my animals), and that the procedure to fix it is far more expensive than what it would be to replace the LE. I had to chuckle a bit...

So, yes, I have been completely honest with everyone that I have talked to.

I have never met you and you have never met me. Yet the tone of your reply is rude and offensive as if I am under some sort of obligation to accept your abuse. Go get help somewhere else.
